Joseph D. Glazer

In his over 30 years as an attorney, Joe has represented businesses and individuals in a wide range of matters, with a particular focus on healthcare matters. Joe began his career at a large firm focusing on product liability litigation involving pharmaceutical products. He later joined one of the world’s largest law firms, where he focused on the unique needs of healthcare providers. Joe started his own firm in 1999 with the goal of providing clients with the high level of expertise that clients expect of a large firm and the more personal approach and commitment that a small firm offers.

Joe has decades of experience helping healthcare providers navigate the complex areas of healthcare law. Serving clients throughout the country, Joe has assisted clients reach their goals in areas as diverse as Medicare reimbursement appeals and litigation, regulatory compliance, patient privacy issues, contract drafting and analysis, general business advice, and the defense of fraud and abuse claims. Joe has years of experience representing healthcare associations. Joe has acted as outside counsel for the Hospital Alliance of New Jersey and advised the New Jersey Council of Teaching Hospitals regarding a variety of legal and regulatory issues. Among other matters, Joe represented the Hospital Alliance and the New Jersey Council of Teaching Hospitals in litigation involving HMO insolvencies. In the fraud and abuse area, Joe has represented providers in investigations by the Office of Inspector General and Department of Justice. He negotiated on behalf of over 20 New Jersey hospitals the settlement of the “72 Hour Rule” investigation. He also represented hospitals in the federal government’s “same-day stay” billing investigation, coordinating hospitals’ review of allegedly improper claims and conducting settlement negotiations with the Department of Justice.

In addition to his work as an attorney, Joe previously led the reimbursement group of one of the Mid-Atlantic region’s largest healthcare consulting firms and was a partner in another boutique consulting firm. As an attorney and consultant, Joe has advised healthcare providers on some of the most critical matters of the day. Joe’s background allows him to understand both the legal issues facing his clients and the financial impact of those issues. Joe is a 1993 graduate of the University of California at Berkeley School of Law and a 1990 graduate of Rutgers University, with a B.A. in Economics with highest honors. He holds a Master of Laws degree in Trial Advocacy from Temple University.
